Elaine Shimberg has appeared on numerous national television talk showsincluding the "Today" show, CNN’s "Sonya Live in L.A.," "Hour Magazine," and "AM Chicago" (Oprah was the host then). She was also co-host of a women’s talk show on WFLA-TV (NBC affiliate in Tampa) for five years, and produced and served as host of the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center TV program, "Backstage at the Center" 1989-1990.
IMs. Shimberg has appeared as a speaker at the national American Society of Journalists and Authors meeting in New York City May 1984, 1995 and 1996. She has given seminars at stroke support groups, Tourette Syndrome support groups, and for numerous medical professional groups, and has given lectures to 1st and 4th year medical students at the University of South Florida Medical School.
In addition to teaching "Writing for Publication" for two years at Hillsborough Community College, Ms. Shimberg conducted numerous writing workshops at the Suncoast Writer’s Conference, Florida Business Writers, Women in Communication, Florida Freelance Writers’ Conference, and others.
